Color Tile & Carpet

I wish i could give more stars! We did our project in phases so that we could not have our entire home packed in boxes all at once. Jerry is a genius at measuring and we had little leftovers when the install was complete.
He set us up with Mark Ruggles who is a master installer and did a phenomenal job with the flooring and the back splash. We could not be happier with their service!

No one offered to help after standing in the store for a long while. There were 3 workers and I was the only customer. The lady on the phone seemed annoyed and waved me away. I left and have no reason to return.

My experience using Color Tile & Carpet started out being good. Jerry was a very knowledgeable, professional salesman who has been doing this for a long time. The quotes were done promptly in the way I asked for them to be done. The challenges that we faced were at the end of the job. The workmen were considerate of my requests and would talk out problem areas with me as they came up only because I was present during the process.

BUT they had to add an extra day to what was allocated for the job because of time issues with carpeted stairs. This is what I believe you should know and be helpful if your doing a flooring remodel with this company.

1. If you have Wooden base boards they will be damaged because of the large nails they use to put back the baseboards. This was not explained to me before hand. There were gouges because of tools used to staple carpet on stairs that were Not present before they started. Nothing was said to to me about extra damage that was in plain sight after work had been done. Its just part of what you need to deal with after they leave. There was a baseboard cracked and put back cracked and nothing was said to me once again. It took me hours to repair, cover and restore damages. When asked about it the Workman said "usually the painter follows and takes care of it". (A lot of extra work for you or your painter coming in)

2. You need to know It will be very messy. They clean up each day before they leave but still very messy. We were working in the house at the same time and had to move boxes and materials several times to get where we needed to get.

3. You need to know that the Workman (who were friendly and kind) like to listen to music while they work. Not with earphones! They turned on music without asking at first while we were working in our offices. My suggestion would be to tell the Workman the kind of music you would want to listen to all day or better yet- they get Bluetooth earphones as the homeowners lives are already altered enough.

4. I wish I would have known that if there is an issue with the way the baseboards were sitting if you go from carpet to another flooring material it is your responsibility to correct it. Albeit the lead Workman talked to me about certain issues that needed to be addressed. Not only is this extra money you will need to budget for but you will need to correct the baseboards. Ok I went and bought the baseboards, the stain and varnish and The Workman cut the baseboard board completely wrong and mitered sooo wrong. I had to take my time and go buy another board stain and varnish and miter and nail it in place myself. No apologies! But the company did reimburse me for the second board cost!

5. I wish I would have known the Workman do not do a walk through with you before they leave. I was never asked by the salesperson or Workman one time if I was satisfied with the work or asked to leave a review.
If I would have done a walk through we could have caught the issues and they would not have possibly needed to come back and redo things.

How a company leaves is as important as how they begin.

Pros. I believe you get a fair price for your product at this company. I believe they are honest and try to please the customer.

Just think of everything you can before you go into a project and ask lots of questions about your responsibilities or what will alter once you change out the flooring. (If you change from carpet to laminate the baseboards drop and you most likely will have to paint what the baseboards covered before. (Very time consuming) Do yourself A favor I suggest you go in as soon as they pull the baseboards and paint so it will have time to dry before they nail back baseboards.

Excellent service. Jerry and his team promptly answered our questions in the initial "looking" stage, when we had decided we wanted new floors in our home but were not entirely sure which product would suit our needs best. We went to Color Tile and agreed on what we wanted. Took a couple samples home to see how they looked with our walls, furniture and decor. Once we decided on the product and color, Jerry came to measure and our installation was scheduled. The installers they use are fast and top-notch. Our house is just under 2,000 square feet and we had vinyl plank flooring installed in approximately 1,800 square feet including closets (every room except the bathrooms). The installers were courteous, they showed up on-time each day, moved all of our furniture, cleaned up as they went along, and were careful to place all furniture, etc back where it belonged. They did all of this in 2 days! Amazing. And - another important note - we LOVE our new floors. They look great. Very pleased with the result. We highly recommend Color Tile & Carpet for all of your flooring needs.
